Don’t sacrifice comfort!

Whoever said beauty is pain has definitely never worn one of our gowns! You DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, have to sacrifice comfort for style!

All of our designers do an impeccable job of considering a brides comfort while designing their gowns. They think about how the lining will feel on their skin, how heavy the dress will be, will the embellishments rub under your arms. The fact that you will be wearing this dress all day is not forgotten by our designers.

Also, when we attend bridal market in NY each Spring and Fall season, we get to see these gowns in person. We touch them and see models try them on and ask questions of those models about how they feel in the gown. There have been gowns we’ve LOVED the look of at bridal market, but as soon as we touch the lining or feel the weight, we realize they just aren’t practical.

A few things to consider when trying on gowns to make sure you will be happy wearing that gown on your big day:

  • Can you sit in it?? Ask your stylist when trying on gowns if you can do a sit test in your favorites!

  • Can you dance? Don’t be afraid to break it down during your appointment to make sure the gown is built to bust a move!

  • Can you enjoy your wedding meal? You should be able to enjoy that amazing meal you paid for without feeling uncomfortable afterwards. Does your gown have enough stretch and give so you can chow down with your new spouse?

  • Are there any areas that are already bothering you during your try on? If there are elements that are rubbing or poking you that are annoying you in the few minutes you are in it at the shop, that may be a sign that you won’t love it the day of. Keep in mind though that some bothersome areas may just be because the sample isn’t the perfect fit and can be fixed in alterations. Ask your stylist for their expert advice!

But just because these gowns can be worn from morning to midnight, doesn’t mean they aren’t drop dead gorgeous. All it takes to make a dress stunning and sensible is a little bit of thoughtful consideration from designers who are well trained and have years of experience creating bridal gowns - and lucky for you we’ve found these designers and curated the perfect collection of comfy bridal gowns!
